The Kobolds - Part 2

I surveyed the scene. Rhogan had dispatched the last enemy over the other side of the trench and so I turned the corner and seeing a kobold on the other side of a portcullis threw a magic missile at him. It seemed to hit and he stumbled. the halfling, (Ozric that's it), Ozric charged forward slipping past the bars and just as he approached him the kobold fell to the ground.
He stepped over to a lever and pulled it up and there was a grating sound and the portcullis raised. The dwarf meanwhile had wandered off towards a room off the main corridor with the trench. Caspian stepped forward to the now prone kobold by Ozric and attempted to patch him up but obviously pressed in the wrong spot as blood squirted out splattering his shoes as the kobold breathed its last. He then stepped on past Ozric.

Rhogan strode along the corridor passing the cleric and rogue and stepped out of sight round a corner. Then running along I passed even Rhogan and moved into a large room with 4 alcoves on the wall with the passage I left and and 4 on the opposite side, the nearest holding a suit of armour and then deftly as I saw my path into the nearest alcove on this wall blocked by a suit of armour stepped behind the towering paladin. Then suddenly I heard a 'tink' and 'squitgd' and green goo seemed to splatter Rhogan's feet. slowly the rest of our party filtered out into the room and Vistra the dwarf remained behind Rhogan inside the passage.

I stepped forward towards the four kobold figures but as I did the suit of armour to my left fired a dart at me which caught in my robes. I saw a stone figurine on a pedastal behind two of the kobolds and winked at it conjuring the sound of it falling onto the floor behind. All the kobolds turned towards the sound. The slinger seeing nothing was a miss twirled met my gaze and fired a pellet from his sling which impacted the coffin by the side of me I called back to Ozric "NOW! Nows your chance!".
He practically flew across the room and as he passed the suit of armour on the right hand side of the room a dart whizzed over his head impacting the wall opposite. He then made a mad lunge plunging his dagger into the back of the kobold in front of him who screamed turning to face him. Caspian advanced on the slinger throwing holy fire at him knocking him down. I heard sounds of grunting from behind me and as I turned I saw Rhogan struggling to free himself from the green goo.
Vistra strode forward and as a dart struck her as she stepped in line with the suit of armour, she swung a . . . a sling? firing a pellet she struck one of the spearmen who had just converged on Caspian. Ozric continued to battle the spearman he had stabbed. I strode over to Vistra and as I stepped next to her another dart 'trinked' off of her armour. I then threw a magic missile at the foe Ozric was fighting. Rhogan once again struggled against the goo as Caspian struck at the spearman still facing him after Vistra's stone distracted the other.

The Kobolds - Part 1

The midday sun barely broke the clouds. It wasn't cold but it wasn't exactly clear skies either. We stood, a strange group, in front of a trapdoor before the ruins of an old tower.

We had answered a call for help from a Shopkeeper in Farreltown. He had recently lost a wagon to increasingly bold and violent Kobolds including a green dragonhide which he was planning to make into a fine suit of scale armour. He had offered us 200gp each if we returned with the hide.

And so we found ourselves slowly heading down some stairs. The huge dragonborn paladin, Rhogan at the front followed by the party warrior, a dwarf, female unusually, next up was the rogue, halfling of course and I was followed by Caspian the one man who hadn't tried to chat me up so far. He was a cleric of Lathander and very certain of his faith. Me? well I trust in my own magic.

We walked down towards a strange eerie green glow coming from a trench of gooey looking stuff we were slightly entranced before suddenly a stone clanked against Rhogan's armour I looked ahead and saw two kobolds, one menacingly twirling a sling, the second brandishing a nasty looking spear. Immediately the dwarven female charged off into the fray round a corner followed swiftly by the halfling leaving me, Caspian and Rhogan on the stairs.

I threw an acid arrow at one whilst Caspian threw flames of holy fire at another as Rhogan charged off brandishing his longsword towards the one Caspian hit. He strode up to him brandishing his longsword slightly wonkily. Unfortunately he just slapped the guy with it due to the hasty draw. The kobold didn't take this lying down however and snaked his spear past the armour. He took it stoically and retaliated knocking the kobold down.

I advanced and threw another offensive spell pilum of fire at the other now in front of me. meanwhile I saw the dwarf and halfling in between two kobolds but as they seemed to be holding their own I concentrated on helping Rhogan who now challenged the second kobold in front of me, and advanced upon him.

As he did this to my right one of the kobolds withdrew from the melee with the halfling and the dwarf. As it did this the dwarf landed a blow and he retreated behind a portcullis.as the halfling turned on the other and rushed him into the gooey glowing stuff in the trench. Rhogan claimed the conciousness of his second and walked towards the trench looking down to the enemy below. . .
